A new report by Philipp Aerni of the Science, Technology, and Innovation Program (STI) at the Center for International Development (CID), "Public Attitudes towards Agricultural Biotechnology in Developing Countries - A Comparison between Mexico and the Philippines" has been released.
The report concludes that a global system of governance of agricultural biotechnology needs to consider the perspective of stakeholders in developing countries to a greater extent. According to the study, most respondents consider biotechnology a powerful new tool to address problems in agriculture, nutrition and the environment.
